The service history of this watch is unknown to me unless I state otherwise. Therefore you should expect to service this watch if you are a responsible collector. Often times these watches have been forgotten in a jewelers desk or in a back room for 30 plus years. I like to save them from that demise and get them back into the hands of collectors. It doesn’t take very long for old gummy oil to stop a movement from running (many times just a week or so) or even worse if the oil is dried out it might not take too long for the watch to grind itself up inside so please understand I can only tell you how the watch is performing here. This highly collectible and fine display case is in fully serviceable condition. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the threads so you get the best looking and working case possible! The back and bezel thread up easily, screw on and off smoothly, and both seat tight. I don’t know whether this is an original Hamilton-made display case, but it sure acts like one; the back and bezel are completely interchangeable and work just the same on either side. The correct original crown’s fluting is still sharp and defined for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely when you pull out on it a tad, but, by design, does not extract, so only a lever-set e. Hamilton railroad-grade movement will work inside. The bow is also its engraved and correct original, shows zero brass or damage, and holds tight to all positions. The crystals are both beveled mineral glass and 100% clean and clear with no issues. This fine case fits all standard-featured lever-set-ONLY movements. The case does show exceedingly minimal wear, including superficial scratching only, zero nicks, marrings or artwork, zero brass anywhere on the scene, and absolutely, positively no sign of any dents, dings, dimples or depressions!!
