The watch has just been cleaned and serviced and the movement is in perfect working condition. It runs to the end of the fusee chain very smoothly and keeps very good time. The movement: Three arm gilt balance. Beautiful engraved top plate and balance cock. Very rare and interesting square pillars. The mint fire gilt movement is signed. Is one of the most eminent English watch makes of England in the 18th century. He is well listed in all the reference books. For a good example you can look at: G. Baillie, Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World, Vol. 235: A maker of great repute of watches and complex clocks. He has watches and clocks on display in every major museum. The inner case: Silver, near mint condition, hallmarked for LONDON 1795, and numbered 7111. The outer case: silver, mint condition, with a nice watch paper. The outer case is not hallmarked but it is the original outer case! It is a large and heavy pair case silver pocket watch. The silver inner case is 50 mm wide and the silver outer case is 58 mm. The watch weighs 108 grams. The extremely mint original enamel dial with Arabic numerals is signed. Very nice gilt ornamented original hands. A lovely high domed clear crystal glass.
