Featuring a thick & heavy 14K yellow gold case & three covers with all exterior surfaces completely covered in the most amazing hand engraved decorations. Fully hallmarked with no monogram and offered in about mint condition! A stunning 117 year old Victorian Waltham 14K gold hunter with a signed American Waltham Watch Co. Seaside grade 3/4 split plate 15 jewel safety barrel movement in excellent operating condition! The signed ” WALTHAM ” snow white fine porcelain dial is mint with black enamel Roman numerals and seconds sweep at the bottom marked out in 10 second intervals. Blue steel spade pointers finish off the pristine fine porcelian dial. This is your chance to own an exceptional Victorian stem wind & set 14K solid gold Waltham hunter cased pocket watch in about mint condition. The only thing keeping it from mint is some very light age staining inside the front cover. This beautiful antique timepiece has a case diameter of 39mm and weighs a substantial 47.9 grams, about half of which is 14K gold. I mention the gold content for a base value only. I would never destroy a beautiful antique gold pocket watch for the gold content. It is my hope that this watch ends up in the hands of an ardent collector for many years of enjoyment and appreciation! This gorgeous antique Waltham remains in about the same condition as when it was first made, all original with no dings, dents, scratches or repairs. The 14K gold front cover pops open smartly to exactly 90 degrees when the stem is depressed. All other richly engraved 14K gold covers also open to exactly 90 degrees and all covers snap tightly shut. The wind is silky smooth and it keeps excellent time. Note the incredible hand chased decorations on this superb example. Each cover features extravagant florals and scrolls over an engine turned ground that show no wear after 117 years of use! The rear cover also showcases a castle & tower scene by a river with hills and trees at it’s center. The extra thick 14K gold case edge has intricate scroll engravings, all done meticulously by hand. Please examine the many photos for a close look. There’s an elegant monogram cartouche bordered by scrolls & florals at the front cover center that has never held a monogram, a real plus for collectors! The inside rear cover is signed. ASSAY 14 K 238158. The inside of the polished 14K gold cuvee is stamped with an age worn symbol and matching serial number. All serial numbers match, proving the watch to be all original.
