In this listing we are offering a wonderful high quality Patek Philippe Hunting Case Movement for sale. This movement was made around the 1900s by the world famous Patek Philippe & Co for Tiffany & Co. It features top grade features such as wolf teeth winding wheels, counterpoised lever fork, solid gold balance screws, and capped escapement. This was made for a ladies pocket watch retailed by Tiffany & Co thus it only has the Tiffany mark on both the dial and movement. It was customary for Tiffany & Co watches make by Patek Philippe to be missing the Patek Philippe signature. Tiffany labeled Patek Philippe movement has the famous’Curved Center Bridge’ design it is rarely seen to be this small and nevertheless executed to the same fine craftsmanship. Underneath the dial there is a faintly written’PP Co’ writing that confirms the movement is indeed made by Patek Philippe. Condition-wise the movement is NOT RUNNING and we have no way to test its operation/setting since it is missing the winding stem. Pressure applied to the center wheel easily gets the balance swinging freely meaning that the going train is working fine. There is quite a lot of rust on the hour and minute wheels so we are unsure if there is any problem with time setting. Cosmetically the enamel Tiffany dial does not have any hairline or crack but some of the text has faded. The winding stem and minute hand are missing, rest of the movement is complete. Movement diameter is 27.5mm. Return can be made if the item received significantly deviate from the lot description and must be made within 3 days after receiving item. Tiffany & Co Pocket Watch. Movement by Patek Philippe. This pocket watch is in excellent condition. The movement is fully functional and the hinged covers open/close and snap properly into place. The enamel dial appears to be in excellent condition although there is some lint and debris that we have not attempted to clean. Please note that although the dial appears to have no imperfections we can’t be certain unless the debris is removed from under the crystal and frankly we’d rather not get into opening the watch and attempting to clean it lest we damage it. The watch features a third, hinged cover which allows for the exhibition of the movement through an acrylic crystal. The front cover is monogrammed with the initials “LK”. The watch measures approx 41mm in diameter and has a size 15 ligne movement with lever escapement and a seconds subdial. The serial number is engraved on both the case and movement and is doubly signed by Tiffany & Co. A Patek Philippe “Extract from the Archives” accompanies this watch. This watch has come to us directly from the estate of it’s original owner and is the first time it’s being offered for sale to dealers, collectors, and the general public. We do not know the service history. We have found it to keep time well enough (variance of a couple of minutes a day) to sell as-is and it runs for about a day on a full wind although no warranties are implied. Servicing of the movement is recommended for optimal performance. Our potential buyers are more knowledgeable than us when it comes to pocket watches.
