Case is frozen shut and will not open.. I didn’t wind it too far just a bit… And it took off with a shake… With constant movement it may stay running…. But as the nature of vintage watch stuff… I can’t say how long it will actually run and if it will time correctly for days…. I recommend having it serviced by a reputable matchmaker for daily carry and use….. Please review all pics and if you need any others please message your request. Some glass requires inner and outer boxes…. Please be aware of Holidays and expect extra days of travel if needed due to PO closures or naturally occurring weather related issues.
Offered for sale is an antique Elgin pocket watch, manufactured in circa 1904, featuring an ornate hunter-style case and a classic single-sunk Elgin dial. A very attractive early-20th-century American pocket watch with strong visual appeal. The watch will run when wound but then stops, as shown in the video. This is a common issue with antique mechanical watches and a routine service/cleaning would likely go a long way. Estimated Production Year: 1904. Original Elgin single-sunk dial. Arabic numerals with red 5-minute markers. Sub-seconds at 6 o’clock. Dial shows age-appropriate spotting and wear consistent with over 120 years of use. Ornate floral-engraved hunter case. Marked Wadsworth – H. OT – Guaranteed 20 Years. Case shows honest wear, patina, and surface marks from age. Hinges open and close properly. Will run briefly and then stop. Likely in need of cleaning and servicing. Not tested for time accuracy or power reserve.
