1839 Hallmark London Sterling Verge Fusee Pocket Watch. This early verge fusee pocket watch has the pair case and is hallmarked London, Sterling, 1839. The dial is excellent. Both cases are good with only some very slight bruises. The movement is marked T. The movement looks okay, chain is intact, is fully wound, but does not run. So, this needs some sort of repair. 1800′s Antique Edward Prior London Silver Triple Case Enamel Verge Fusee Pocket Watch. Watch features a triple case; the two inner cases lock properly the outer case’clicks’ but does not fully lock. The outer case has some cracking to the enamel. The watch sets and winds but does not keep proper time (likely a main spring). Here we offer an English Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, which has an Enamel Dial and comes in Silver Pair Cases, which bear no assay marks. The Movement is signed Thos. Ganthome, London; is in very good running order and keeping time to within 10 mins per day. It is Key Wound on the Back and and Key Set on the Dial. The Verge Fusee Movement has Early Style Pillars and is in very good cosmetic condition. It is signed as shown in the pics and has an early Face of Chronos design on the cock. It is housed in Silver Pair Cases; the Outer measures 54mm in diameter and is in good condition apart from the expected wear marks and light dings on the back. The 44mm Watch Case is also in very good condition, but has a few slight dings and is 27mm deep (25.4mm =1 inch). The 40mm Enamel Dial is in good condition ; has a chip at 6.30 and a very light one at 11.00. It has Roman Hour Numerals and Arabic Minutes in the outer chapter ring. Listed watch maker Joseph Weldon recorded to have worked at St John, Clerkenwell in 1792 and was apprentice to worshipful company clock maker Master James Harbud. A English verge fusee pocket watch with associated shagreen outer case. In good working order. A fine late 18th century English pair cased verge fusee pocket watch by Joseph Weldon, London. The movement is watch maker signed and serial numbered 19816. The outer green skin case covering has extensive tiny gold pique work decoration, the inner case housing the movement has a gilted finish with a metal base. The movement has square pillars, a pierced and engraved balance cock with a pierced and engraved foot incorporating a Tompion style disc regulator. It has a chain driven fusee and a verge escapement. The white enamel dial is signed Weldon London , it has Black Roman hour numerals, black Arabic minute numerals and beetle & poker hands with a mineral high dome bullseye glass crystal. The outer case measures 49.7mm (approx 2) in diameter, the combined weight including movement is 100 grammes. Condition: The outer case is in very good condition without any damage or wear and with 99.9% of the pin work intact. The inner case has a gilt finish with wear commensurate with age. The inner case is thought not an original match to the outer case as without the additional felt and watch paper packet inside it is a slightly smaller size. Both case covers open and close as they should with good strong hinges. The movement is complete and in strong ticking order without stopping , the movement would likely benefit from a clean and service therefore time keeping cannot be guaranteed. The dial is in good condition without any hairlines or chips and the beetle and poker hands and bullseye crystal are in good order. It is an early pocket watch with considerable age, so more fitting to be kept in a cherished collection rather than to be used as a day in day out work horse. Used presentation box and key provided. A early English pocket watch. In good working order. A fine 18th century English Repousse Silver pair cased verge fusee pocket watch by Joseph Stephens, London. The movement is watch maker signed and serial numbered 2408. The outer Silver Repousse case has a scene depicting four figures with an angel above them, the inner plain polished silver case (housing the movement) is hallmarked London 1783 and case maker stamped IW most likely to be John Wright, Red Lion St, Clerkenwell, London. The movement has round pillars, a finely pierced and engraved balance cock with a large Diamond endstone with engraved foot incorporating a Tompion style disc regulator. It has a chain driven fusee and a verge escapement. The white enamel dial has Black Roman hour numerals, black Arabic minute numerals and beetle & poker hands and it has mineral bullseye glass crystal. The outer case measures 47.5mm (approx 1.9) in diameter, the combined weight including movement is 105 grammes. Condition: Both cases fit well together and are considered to be an original pair. The movement is complete and in strong running order keeping to exceptionally good time for a verge movement of this age. Both case covers open and close correctly with good strong hinges. The dial has no hairlines or chips and the blued beetle and poker hands and bullseye crystal are in good order. Over all good condition commensurate with age.
