Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working 19th Century ROCKFORD Heavy Coin Silver Large Victorian Gents Pocket Watch, made by the Rockford Watch Company Illinois USA, Circa 1887. The Porcelain Dial Has Black Roman Numerals, and is signed Rockford Watch Co. Illinois, with Heavy Beveled Glass Bezel. The Movement is a High End 11 Jewel Mechanical Wind-Up Movement, signed R. The Watch is Large and is Size 18s and is a “Lever Set” Watch. Overall Good Original Condition, as pictured, With Normal wear from Age!!! This is a High End Watch! This is a bit unusual. This is a pocket watch case made from 2 silver coins. The front coin dates to 1876. The demi case is hinged and has the dial with it but no movement. The outside measures about 38.21 mm. The inside where the movement fits is about 33.44mm. Please see my other listings… Please note that all pictures are taken on the macro setting. This makes even the slightest imperfections and specks of dust appear much more prominent though they are often not visible without magnification.
