Cobalt Blue Guilloche Enamel Swiss Pocket Watch Case & 14K Gold Filled Chain Necklace with Hand Painted Love Knot Birds on Mother of Pearl T-Bar & Swivel Hook Hirsch & Fils Switzerland A gorgeous gold and cobalt blue enamel pocket watch, featuring an antique guilloché enamel case. The original watch movement was missing when we acquired it, but the case was so beautiful, it simply begged to be repurposed. I hand-painted the sweetest love knot bluebirds on a piece of Mother of Pearl, using gouache-an ancient medium used for miniature painting for hundreds of years. The vibrant blue guilloché enamel case showcases a decorative gold & Silver floral and leaf design with a bird on the back cover. The case measures 1 inch in diameter and is suspended from a swivel hook on a spectacular 17-inch gold-filled decorative chain. The necklace closes in the front with a T-bar toggle clasp. The back cover can be removed to insert a photo or keepsake. As with most pocket watches, the back may be a bit difficult to open, since they were designed to be airtight to protect the movement. Once filled, the back snaps closed easily. This beautiful piece is in overall excellent condition, with only two tiny areas of slight enamel loss on the edge of the back cover (barely noticeable to the naked eye).
