Title: Antique 18th/19thC French Swiss Key-Wind Calendar Pocket Watch – Silver Case PLG. Dating from the late 1700s to early 1800s, this is a true piece of early watchmaking history. Dial: White enamel with classic Roman numeral hour markers and an inner calendar date ring (1-31) tracked by a dedicated date pointer hand. Winding: Front-winding mechanism with an eccentric winding hole located near the 2 o’clock position on the dial. Includes a vintage metal watch key attached via string. Case: Hinged front bezel open-face case. The interior case back features a diamond maker’s mark stamped “PLG” over serial number 14745. Movement: Not fully disassembled, but exhibits beautiful early edge construction visible under the bezel rim. Condition Report (Please see all photos). The most notable flaw is a significant chip out of the white enamel dial edge between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. The crystal exhibits age-appropriate light scratches, and the case has expected patina/tarnish. This would not wind so it is considered not running.
