ILLINOIS BUNN SPECIAL 21 JEWEL 16s RARE HUNTING CASE 14K GOLD POCKET WATCH

16 size 21 jewel hunting case lever-set Bunn Special pocketwatch with a very attractive 14K gold hunting case. Beautiful rare high grade watch, the hunting case 16 size Bunn Specials are rare and this particular variant is identified as a “Type C” in Mike Chamelin’s book and is shown with an estimated total production of only 650 made. Watch is fronted by a double-sunk enamel dial with curved “Illinois” signature and is housed in a 14K gold Keystone case with attractive engraving. Total watch weight is 56.8 dwt. Movement serial number is 4216262. Running and a very nice looking movement with good color and luster. Dial is beautiful with just a very faint hairline in the outer chapter at the 14 minute position. Case is very attractive but is relatively lightweight and has some dings and marks around its frame. Liftspring for front of case needs a small bit of help through the start of the opening motion, and front lid of case goes a bit past 90 degrees as shown in side view below.
