1896 Hampden 17J Railroad Pocket Watch Gold Filled Hunter Case

This is an antique (circa 1896) Hampden Special Railway 17J pocket watch with 18s gold filled Hunter case. Its condition is consistent with its age. The hunter case is operational; it opens and shuts as it should. The outer back lid is marked “Dueber Canton O USA trade mark 3347397″. The inner back lid is marked “Guaranteed to be made of 10 Karat Gold over hard metal and to wear for 20 years”. It has the same trade mark number as the outer lid. This piece has a Roman Numeral dial. All three hands are intact, however the hour hand is slightly bent. Dial has some minor signs of wear, mainly dirt/grease accumulation.
