Antique 1908 Burlington Special Illinois Size 16 Pocket Watch in Philadelphia GF 20 Year Case. We are pleased to offer for sale this hard to find antique size 16 Burlington Special pocket watch made by the Illinois Watch Co. It is model 5, grade 174 , 19 jewels, serial number 2051917 with a lever movement setting and was made about 1908. The case is 20 year gold-filled and was made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co. With a serial number of 8322382 and features a shield design on the back cover. The Burlington Watch Co. Most of the Burlington watches were made by The Illinois Watch Company. This watch is in good running condition and shows only minor wear. The dial with Arabic Numerals and minute, hour and second hands are in good condition as is the crystal glass with slight wear. There is a tiny crack in the dial where the lever is pulled out for setting the watch. There are some minor scratches on the case. See my other listings. For more great items! Beautiful verge fusee watch in golden pair case. Diameter of outer case is 47mm, inner case is 41mm. Total weight is 91 grams, outer case weight is 24 grams. London hallmarks date it to 1763. The dial and movement are signed by Rayment in London. The Sibyl acts as a bridge between the worlds of the living and the dead. She shows Aeneas the entrance to the underworld whose entrance lay at the nearby crater of Avernus and teaches him what he needs to know about the dangers of their journey. Video will open in a new window. Condition Condition is generally fine. Dial is in good condition without visible defects. Movement is running in every position though I don’t guarantee time keeping. Outer case has some wear, with some losses of details. Inner case is generally ok, but there is some minor issues with springs to mention. The spring of outer case is later replacement. The spring that holds movement inside the case is a little too hard, it’s sometimes hard to pull off the movement. Nice watch, don’t miss it.
