Howard Boston original silver hunting case pocket watch. The watch features a plain hunting case with beautiful interior decorated design, hinged inner dust cover, enamel dial with Roman numerals, original blued steel hands, sub seconds hand, glass crystal, and a 15 jewel gilded movement. The inner case cover is signed with the serial number “291′, and the maker “W&S. The pocket watch is a key wind, key set. I do not have an original key. We did wind and set the time with an universal key. The watch runs and has kept decent time. This is an 18 size pocket watch. The serial number on the movement is 1773. The condition of the watch is very good overall. The dial has cracks in the sub seconds circle. It is a 2 star watch meaning Space 1000 pieces or less. In series I a total of 1800 pieces were made and of course not all in the same case/variation etc, and who knows how many are still around? Please take a look at all the photos and ask questions before making an offer. I try to describe my items in all honesty as best that I can. Keep in mind this is an antique watch so you might find flaws or imperfections, and timing will not be perfect since it is a mechanical timepiece. I sell good quality watches that are all original, not put together from parts, and usually they are serviced, restored, repaired or at least exactly described if they have any issues. Since I do check, and re-check all watches before mailing out, if any arrive non working I will no longer accept them back for a return. Amazing near Mint condition super clean English made by George Austin of London Silver pair cased verge fusee. Beautiful Smooth Solid sterling silver pair case is Silver hall marked (u) 1795 of London assay with Rare Right facing Duty Mark. Pristine condition white colored porcelain dial with nice Bold Black Roman numerals and Quarter hour sub numbers is matched with its original Thick Solid Gold matching Arrow Style hands. The dial shows no chips or hairlines at all and is truly Amazing. Absolutely spotless high domed bullseye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together with nice and tight hinges. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has nice motion. The balance bridge is beautiful With its unique and ornate scroll work. The movement is near mint with sharp blue screws and a Spotless silver disked index for regulating. The serial number is 3751 and is also matched to the inner pair case Pocket watch measures a nice sized 55mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs Truly Outstanding and keeps great fusee time, last checked it was running +/- 1 minute within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position…….. But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are verge type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time 222 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces and always remember to wind counter clockwise. Inside the case is a fragile old watch makers paper from Woodbury New Jersey.
