Inside, the lid is lined with burgundy silk, signed “Longines, ” and displays European Grand Prix medals. The base is lined with burgundy velvet, and includes a pocket watch holder, which is movable and also has a stand on the back to use the box as a watch display. 11,3 cm wide. Pocket watch holder diameter. Condition: Overall good for a 120-year-old item, showing signs of use and aging on the wood on the outside, but the lid, hinges, and lock are in working order. The interior is mostly well preserved, but notice some wear to the velvet on the stand. The underside of the lid has a horizontal line in the wood as seen in the photo. AS SEEN INTHE PHOTO. Gold embossed lettering on the interior’s rich purple silk lining tells us this box was made for or by E. CCressier, 93, Grand rue, Besancon, France. It further tells us that his medals are worked in both gold and silver. The box here shown is fitting for a fine piece of work in silver or gold, and while the medal no longer is with it, it is a fine antique all on its own. One could certainly use this for a smallish pocket watch, the type ladies used, and it is open to the top of fitting for the fob or top of a watch, too. That said, allow me to point out the elaborate and beautiful mother of pearl shield that decorates the solid rosewood box, as the monogram seems to me to be L and W intertwined. Well crafted and beautifully preserved, we’d date this box to late 1800s. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, no chips or loss to the wood, and the mother of pearl inset cartouche shilled is beautifully monogrammed, as well as preserved. Solid wood, not a veneer, it is of generous size and could display a lady’s watch and chain for gifting or for display. Silk velvet and silk satin line the interior and remain in very good condition, as well. Push-button opening working well, clasps tightly. Piano hinged, it is beautifully crafted throughout. I have gently polished the case, and it is shining wonderfully, as only SOLID SILVER can. THE WATCH MEASURES 2.5CMS (25MM) IN DIAMETER. This lovely collectible watch has a STUNNING original snow white fabulously enamelled dial It is unsigned, and is in excellent condition. It has beautiful sharp and crisp Arabic RARE BLUE painted numerals which are enclosed by a beautiful GOLD DOTTED minute track. Everything is crisp and clear with no apparent numeral wear. The crystal is glass and may be the original. As such it shows light wear. The beautiful antique filigree style watch hands are golden steel and are in excellent condition. This is a lovely condition Swiss made crown wind and pin set cylinder movement. It has minty steel screws. The movement is marked’Swiss Made’ and’15 jewels’ on the top plates. The watch runs and has been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. The watch is keeping good time as tested over a 24 hour period. It winds smoothly and the setting action works as it should. The crown is in excellent condition. The chain ring is solid silver and shows light normal wear. This beautiful timepiece is accompanied by its ORIGINAL solid 900 silver hall marked matching’Ribbon’ shaped blue enameled brooch and pin. THE BROOCH HAS A SOLID 9 CARAT GOLD DOGCLIP TO ATTACH IT TO THE WATCH. The brooch is serviceable and wearable and matches the watch completely. THIS IS A FANTASTIC BEAUTIFULLY HAND MADE TIMEPIECE.
