Another incredibly stunning original condition and complete all original E. Howard Series III pocket watch from 1865 in it’s original W & S heavy coin silver hunting case. The plain polish case has no dings or dents, with tight hinges that open to 90 degrees. Properly hallmarked “W & S” on outer covers. Beautifully and simply decorated the scroll work is still outstanding after 158 years. The unique hinged bezel is perfect, however the crystal is missing. Single sunk gorgeous original enamel dial is flawless save for a tiny edge chip about 12 o’clock and an almost imperceptible beginning of a craze at the edge of the six minute mark. It’s glossy and the script itself is astonishing. Purple steel hands are works of art and flawless. The 15 jewel Series III gilded movement is a sight to behold. It reads, “8264″ dating this watch to 1865. Howard packed an incredible amount of compensating technology into their earliest timepieces, and this appears to have an unmarked Mershon’s Patent center wheel rack regulator as well as the extra protection afforded to the mainspring barrel. Unfortunately the watch is over wound, however upon placing slight pressure on the mainspring the balance wheel springs to life. Regardless, a pocket watch of this uniqueness and rarity deserves a complete overhaul. This is an amazing timepiece!

Great looking Illinois Bunn Special Type 111 marked 60 Hour 21J 16S Railroad Pocket Watch Runs strong and keeps time. A very nice example of one of Illinoiss highest grade railroad Pocket Watch with gold jewel settings train and timing screws. Watch is marked 60 hour adjusted temperature and six positions. This was one of the highest grade Illinois watches they made for the railroad trade in 23 jewel. Dial is near mint and an original double sunk dial that is fully marked with no hairlines. Case is an original keystone model 28 Gold Filled marked Bunn Special Case. Case has some wear but looks good with very little visible brass except a hard to see ring on back. Movement runs good and watch sets and winds correctly. Bold black lettering and beautiful damaskeened plates and looks in very nice shape. A stunning railroad watch. It is powered by its original 3/4 Gold Gilt plate, 15 jewel, suspended & compensated bi-metallic balance Model 1891, Grade 63, Fully Adjusted, Breguet Hairspring stem wind, stem set movement. In addition to being gorgeous & in near MINT condition, this is a scarce low production timepiece. Only 8140 of these were ever made!!!
