Pocket Watch Case

A superb late Victorian / Edwardian. Mahogany novelty pocket watch. Stand, as a miniature longcase clock. Standing 36cm high, 11cm width and 8cm depth. Reverse door in the case head to insert the pocket watch. A simple support would be required to stop the watch falling backwards. The watch face display opening, at the front of the case, is 5cm diameter. The piece is nicely carved, planed and joined. There is a crack across the roof and one across the access door. There are hairline cracks to the front of the case head. The body has the odd dent and scratch. Overall an extremely attractive piece. Beautiful weighted, mahogany pocket watch display case with hinged glass door and catches. 10 hooks above the velvet covered shelves. The box is very heavy for its size as it has been weighted to counterbalance the door. It weighs approximately 5.5kg. Length 32.5cm, height 22cm, depth 7.5cm weight 5.5kg.
