Antique Silver 18th Century Georgian Verge Fusee Pair Cased Pocket Watch. This watch was made in the mid 18th century in England the movement is signed J Moore London and has square pillars and lovely engraving. Unusually the movement balance and table are made of solid silver rather than brass. Although you do see them they are incredibly rare especially for the whole movement to be in silver normally its just the balance cock not the rest and even they are uncommon. The watch is all original and has got its original outer case that has matching hallmarks. The original dial has got a bit of damage at the bottom and a few hairline cracks as can be seen in the photos. The dial also has its original beetle and poker hands which is a nice feature. The watch is in working order and appears to have been recently serviced however as it is 250 years old I can give no guarantee. A key will only be provided at buyers request. The chain was manufactured in the 19th century and remains in excellent condition. These pieces are quite rare, furthermore when they come in their original antique cases. The one that we can see in the images bears no hallmarks so it has been impossible to tell its origin. Nevertheless, it has already been acid-tested and we can guarantee that it is entirely made of 18K gold. This item shows a really beautiful design with an elegant, simple and contemporary look. It is composed of circular and oval links woven with a thick gold cord. The chain is almost 15.75 in / 40 cm in length, so it is a really long piece.
