This stunning mid-19th century masterpiece of fine Swiss horology craftsmanship was expertly crafted by Breitling Laederich of La Chaux-de-Fonds, which is a Swiss city of the district of La Chaux-de-Fonds in the canton of Neuchâtel. The rare and obscure luxury watch firm of Breitling Laederich was reputedly owned by Charles Auguste Breitling, who was a close relative of Leon Breitling, the founder of the renowned and still thriving Breitling Watch Company (founded in 1884). The guilloche enamel detailing is designed in the neoclassical style, with floral sprays and swags. The center medallion on the front side features fifteen (15) uniquely shaped hand-cut diamonds styled in a gilt-bordered floret. The back side of the watch features a lavish hand-painted monogram with the letter “A” (possibly interspersed with the letter “M”) surrounded by garlands of delicate flowers in the French-style and surrounded by gilt florets.
