Antique 1900 Waltham Pocket Watch 0s 15j Seaside GF Hunter Case Victorian design. This watch will run for a few seconds then stop. This watch will need to be serviced/cleaned to run properly. The watch crystal in good shape as well as the blued watch hands. The watch dial has several hairline cracks -see pics. The front case springs open as it should when depressing the winding stem and will latch properly when being closed. The winding stem adjusts the watch hands as it should when pulled out. The GoldFilled Hunter case is a Tiger grade made by the Elgin Giant Watch Case Co. The case has a nicely engraved Victorian design that features stars, flora and a swirl pattern on the front and back case covers. The Case has an inner dust cover. The case shows some minor signs of wear-see pics. There is a notable scratch near the top of the back case cover-see pics. The watch bow shows some signs of wear. RARE 1885 Waltham 7J Size 8s Seaside Pocket Watch – 10k Solid Gold Hunter Case. When fully wound and placed on a timegrapher in the dial up position for 1 minute, it shows the watch gaining approximately +18 seconds per day. Although it seems to keep good time, I have seen it stop prematurely on occasion, so I would suggest having it serviced. Some small cracks in the dial near 5:00. Some small dents in the case which are hard to see in the photos due to the engraving. Some case knife marks where the caseback is opened. 10k Solid Gold Hunter Case – (tested). 7 Jewel Gilt Model 1873 Seaside Grade Lever Set Movement. Watch diameter 41.9 mm. Here is a very clean Waltham 14k SOLID gold Hunter’s Case pocket watch. Check out how crisp the engraving design is on this pocket watch case!!! This Waltham watch dates back to 1888 per the SIGNED movement’s serial # 3,622,125!!! The 35.4 mm case does not look much different then when it was new in 1888. Most watch cases show some wear from being carried for all of those years. This one must of sat in a drawer most of its life. This Waltham Hunter’s Case watch has a clean SIGNED dial with the sacred heart religious heart on the dial. My research tells me this is a Seaside model and is 9 jewel. Moderl 1882 and is considered to be a size 1 pocket watch. This watch does run but will probably need to be serviced. I believed the movement is gummed up. The lids and the hinges on this antique Waltham watch are good. The crystal is good. Hard to believe this Waltham is as old as it is. Weighs 41.9 grams or 26.9 pennyweigh. This was my grandfather’s Waltham “Seaside” pocket watch with double hunter case with guilloche/engraved exterior. The serial number 4399604 yields a date of approx. 1890 when I look it up at the Pocket Watch Database. The case tests as 14K gold though it does not appear to be marked. You can see the test results in the last photo. I scratched it pretty well from the edge of the tab where one would expect the most wear to be. Also there are no signs of brass peeking through as I would expect for gold fill but I have not done any deeper, more destructive testing. There is what might be a 14 scrawled on the inner layer of the case (2nd to last photo, toward the lower left edge). The watch is approx. 35mm (1.4) across not including the crown, and the total weight is about 40.4g. The watch is not in running condition. I want my buyers to be fully satisfied and I try to be fair and accurate with my descriptions.
