Pocket Watch Case

Firstly “cottage country” means the local watch maker in the village bought parts form the “big city” from the case maker, the dial maker, the wheel maker… You get the picture by now, gathered all the parts he needed and made the rest by hand to produce a pocket watch as I have here, unsigned English movement. This is a work of art and a genuine piece of English history. The 18-karat multicolored case is signed by the case maker A. This is a small piece at only 40mm across. The hinge on this case is perfect and the crystal is glass high dome. The hands are solid gold and original. The enamel dial is also original and repaired around the keyhole area. As mentioned, this is a key wind and key set from the front in the middle of the dial chain fuse driven movement. Every link of this chain has been inspected by myself with my Zeiss microscope and each and every link is strong and secure. All parts have been inspected before the cleaning process and afterwards needless to say. A few winds with the key and off it goes. The era for this incredible multi tested 18 karat gold case fusee is 1740! And ticks up a storm! The chain is gold filled. All timepieces impeccably serviced by Darlor Watch all authentic warranted to be as such.

1915 Hampden, Canton Ohio U. 18 size, 17 jewels pendant wind set antique pocket watch in excellent looking & running condition. The watch was professionally serviced recently, runs strong and keeps good time. The serial number on the Model 3 full plate movement is 3034851 which dates it to 1915; it has 17 jewels, a micrometric regulator, a patented safety pinion, intricate damaskeening and fancy gold washed lettering. The original porcelain enameled single sunk dial is in good condition, has a small chip near the bottom. The deep blued steel hands are in excellent condition. The Keystone Watch Case Co. Polished Silveroid (nickel silver) case is in excellent original condition, no dents or monogram. The hinges are good and the covers shut tight. The brass bow and nickel plated crown are in very good original condition. The new old stock amber colored acrylic crystal is in fine condition. The case measures approximately 2-3/16 inches in diameter (not including the bow & crown) x 3/4 inch thick including the crystal. This is a nice restored antique timepiece for your collection and use, also makes an excellent gift! My pictures have many unavoidable shadows, reflections and some dust spots that will be cleaned; the watch looks fine in person! 1896 American Waltham Watch Company 18 size, seven jewels pendant wind & set antique pocket watch in fine looking and running condition. The movement was professionally serviced recently, runs strong & keeps good time. This watch appears to not have been carried much and is very well preserved. The serial number on the Model No. 1883, Grade 18 pendant wind & set movement is 97830269 which dates it to 1896. The movement has 7 jewels, a patent safety pinion and a gold plated regulator scale, a very intricate damaskeening pattern on the back plates, an engraved balance arm and very fancy lettering. The porcelain enameled single sunk dial is in excellent original condition, has a very faint hairline in the center which is hard to see. The deep blued steel hour spade style hands are in fine condition. The original antique stock high dome beveled glass crystal is in fine condition with a very faint scratch or two, too nice to replace. The Sun Watch Case Co. 5 year gold filled case has a threaded bezel and back cover, and is in fine condition with very little pocket wear; no dents or engravings, just some very tiny nicks on the bezel. The approximate case measurements are 2-1/8 inches in diameter (not including the bow & crown) x 5/8 inch thick including the crystal. The crown and thick bow are in extra fine condition. This antique Waltham restored timepiece is great for your collection & use, or would make a fine gift for someone! Also a great investment!
