A GOOD QUALITY ANTIQUE GENTLEMAN’S POCKET WATCH BOX. A good quality, antique Pocket Watch Box/Presentation Display Case. This lovely, good quality box is complete with fitted interior that would have originally been used to store a pocket watch. The fitted case to take a gentleman’s pocket watch up to 45mm diameter. The box is in good condition, however as this is an antique item, there may be some minor imperfections consistent with age and normal use. It measures approximately 110mm x 85mm x 30mm. Waltham Mass full hunter pocket watch. Weight: 115.5 Grams. Condition: Antique condition, the movement works perfectly fine when laid face down, if the watch is laid face up the movement stops? . No physical damage other then the usual signs of use over the years, no damage to glass or dial and movement very clean. Unsure if box is original as not a tight fit but a very nice box as a stand alone piece. The rear of the case shuts very tight and hard to open so will leave slightly open, button operates perfectly fine to open the viewing dial. A GOOD ANTIQUE 18CT GOLD ENGLISH HUNTER CASE POCKET WATCH, ROTHERHAMS LONDON. Antique, 18CT Gold English Hunter Cased Pocket Watch by Rotherhams of London and dating from c1902. The English, plain, 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the maker’s mark “JR” for Rotherham & Sons (John Rotherham), the “crown and “18″ for 18 carat gold, the anchor Birmingham town mark and date letter “c for 1902/03. The inner cuvette similarly marked. The English Lever movement is signed by the maker “Rotherhams, London” and serial number 244430. The watch is stem wound and pin set. The white enamel dial is in good overall condition, however does have some faint hairlines. It has the hours in roman numerals and is signed by the maker. The watch measures 51mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 112.1g. The inner cuvette (dust cover) bears an interesting presentation inscription, the watch presented to a Civil Engineer. Presented to R W Newman Esq. E by Paarl Inhabitants to commemorate his erection of Huguenot Bridge, August 1st 1905.
