Mobilus Tourbillon Pocket Watch with Superb Floral Embossed 16-Size Silver Case An extra sharp tourbillion with a great-embossed case. Mobilus is referred to as the poor man’s tourbillion. Tourbillon-this expensive feature was originally designed to make the watch more accurate, but is now simply a demonstration of watchmaking virtuosity. In an ordinary watch the balance wheel oscillates at different rates, because of gravitational bias, when the watch is in different positions, causing inaccuracy. In a tourbillon, the balance wheel is mounted in a rotating cage so that it will experience all positions equally. The mechanism is usually exposed on the face to show it off. ANTIQUE DOUBLE HUNTER GOLDFILLED FAHYS POCKET WATCH CASE W/ FLORAL EMBLEM DESIGN. This antique pocket watch case appears to be produced in the early 1900′s and marked by the Fahys Watch Case Co. The double hunter style case is filled with genuine yellow gold and features a beautifully etched floral emblem design on both plates. The case is good condition with little sign of wear (Please see photos). This genuine piece would be a perfect addition to any collection in your home! 63.6g and measures 54mm round on the exterior.
