Here we offer a very rare Irish Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, which has a Silver Champleve Dial, signed Coote, Dublin which is in very good condition. It bears the Case Makers Mark W N on the inner and outer. The Movement is signed Thos. Coote, Dublin; is working very well, but runs very slowly, in the dial down position. It is Key Wound on the Back and and Key Set on the Dial and bears the low sn 133. Note the early grotesque Face of Chronos on the cock. H Bailie lists Thomas Coote in Dublin from 1733 to 1747. He is listed as a Quarter Brother in 1733 in Watch and Clockmakers in Ireland, by William Galland Stuart : (Edited by David Boles). The Verge Fusee Movement has Egyptian Pillars and is in very good cosmetic and working condition. It was recently Serviced by my Watchmaker and runs very slow in the dial down position over 24 hours. It will tick for a short time in the dial up position and stop. It is housed in Silver Pair Cases, stamped with the Makers Mark W N. The Outer measures 50mm in diameter and is in very good condition. The 43mm Watch Case is also in Excellent condition and is 20mm deep (25.4mm =1 inch). The 38mm Silver Champleve Dial is in very good condition.
