Silver pair cased verge pocket watch – London, c1730. Silver pair cases, 57.5 mm. MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with nicely engraved and pierced winged balance cock and plate. Large silver regulator disk and four Egyptian pillars. All in good original condition and running well. DIAL : Silver champleve dial in very good condition. Later hands, the hour repaired at the base. INNER CASE : Silver, makers mark B, but no hallmarks. In good condition, though the stem and bow are later so have been reattached. The hinge is a little worn so the bezel doesnt snap shut tightly. The high dome bulls eye crystal is scratched and worn, but no chips. OUTER CASE : Silver pair case, again with no hallmarks. Nice large square hinge. The hinge, catch button and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. There are a few light bruises to the back, and an old repair at the neck (only visible from the inside), but generally in quite good condition.
