SUPER RARE LATE 1800s EARLY 1900s BALL POCKET WATCH SALEMANS’ DISPLAY CARRY CASE. Based on its design & style of construction, it could date anywhere from when the company was founded in 1891 up to the 1920s. Internally it has a bright green felt base & a green silk lined lid with the wording “BALL WATCHES” The Railroad Standard. Also note the supports to the sides which would have supported an internal shelf. Externally the leather handle is worn, see photo, with wear and some surface loss to the base. The 14k gold case is 36.4mm in diameter and weighs approx 40.4 grams. 1907 Elgin, Grade 323. Model 2, Class 116, 11J, 0S, stem set, stem wind with date serial number 10850224. Only 7,000 of this model was made during 1907 making it very collectable, even more so in a 14k case, you have to wonder how many still exist. Please read the detailed description and if in any doubt, ask questions. Super Elgin 18s Pocket Watch 20495315 (1918) Coin Silver Case Serviced and in Excellent Working Order. A very good 7-jewel Elgin pocket watch with the more unusual black dial, in a chunky coin silver dustproof swing-out case, serviced a few years ago and in very good working order. The dial is marked Elgin USA and is in very good condition (see photos). All hands are present and in good order. The case is coin silver and marked Coin on the inside. It is the dust-proof swing-out variety to access the movement, lift the crown to the setting position, unscrew the bezel, and carefully lift up the movement in its swing-ring by inserting a thumbnail in the little slot at the base. The case is in excellent condition, about 57mm in diameter and the acrylic crystal is new. The movement is a normal Elgin 7-jewel and is in very good order very clean and it winds, runs and sets very well keeping good time. My notes indicate I had this watch professionally serviced a few years ago. It carries the serial number 20495315 which dates it to 1918. A truly superb Elgin pocket watch in excellent cosmetic condition and very good running order. Priced realistically sell, probably on the low side if anything, and although I have allowed for a best offer facility, offers would need to be very close to the asking price to even be considered.
