This is one of the “Holy Grails” in pocket watches: an original Lange & Sohne prime quality 18K solid gold, heavy hunter case (nearly 100 grams) pocket watch from around 1902. Only a small percentage of Lange movements are of this quality grade. Also, the lower grades were housed in 14k or silver cases. The overall condition is good, as shown on the pictures, with signs of use on the case (engravings on both case lids). The untouched original dial has miniscule hairlines as pictured, hardly noticeable without magnification, the Louis gold hands are also originals. The watch is accompanied with the original case – indeed a rare heirloom collector’s set. Stupendamente conservata savonette Lange dei primi anni del 900 con cassa in oro giallo 14 carati di 50 mm di diametro in perfette condizioni, senza alcun graffio o ammaccatura, coperchio, fondello e parapolvere con cerniere integre, fondello marcato numerato e punzonato, riportante (così come il parapolvere, in metallo dorato) lo stesso numero seriale del movimento. Perfetto quadrante in smalto bianco con numeri arabi in nero, secondina al 6, assolutamente privo di graffi, denti o filature, sfere dorate. Rimessa dell’orario tramite levetta estraibile posta a fianco della lunetta, particolare il ritorno in sede della stessa: premendo il tasto di apertura del coperchio la levetta automaticamente rientra consentendo alla corona di procedere alla carica del movimento. 41, dorato, marcato e numerato, bilanciere compensato con regolazione a collo di cigno, pulitissimo, integro e perfettamente marciante.
