For your pleasure is this beautiful ladies pocket watch created by Arnold Nicoud in 18kt gold. Chain is gold fill. This watch is in absolutely perfect condition other than it’s crystal being broken. It has been exceptionally well cared for. No perceptible scratches, dings or bends. Of course there is some minor wear and minute surface scratches on areas consistent. With it’s age. It is running well and the porcelain face is also in very nice condition. There is a monogram of EC. Measures 42 mm This is a rare find in this sort of condition. This is an 1880s Patek Philippe & Co. This watch has a 70, XXX serial number dating it to 1884 or 1885. The movement is marked Patek Philippe Geneve and is jeweled. The dial is marked Patek Philippe & Cie Geneve, N Matson & Co. (N Matson & Co was a famous Chicago jewel in the 1870s/1880s). The case is not original. It is a Gold Filled Keystone Case that I believe dates to around the 1930s. It has a Dr. S name engraved on the back. The watch dial is approx. 43mm and the case itself is 50mm in diameter. The watch has been tested and keeps relativity good time. The dial looks great and I did not notice any cracks or major wear. The movement looks great. The case of the watch is engraved on the back and has some light tarnish and scratches in a few places. The movement has really unique design. The parts are fully hand made , shaped , engraved. By masters watcmakers of that old times. The parts made to fit only each other and. Can fit only in this movement /combination. Apparently swiss made, cylindre. Escapement with 4 rubis. Key wind and key set , the key included. The movement is perfect – recently serviced – works perfect. The dial is 3 colours enamel /porcelain/. Yellow and white with balck numerals. The dial is almost perfect – except a crack on the edge near 7-8. It is just under the front glass rim and it is not easy noticeable. No visible hairs accross the dial , it has nice and fresh colors and. Silver marks not found but was tested. The inner cover is base metal , the bowl is probably steel. Beautiful case with engraved back and front rims. Also fine engraved back with empty shield in the center. The case is in Perfect condition. The engraving is sharp. Minimal wear for its age.
