Illinois Grade 410 23 Jewel 12s Very Rare Hunting Case Top Grade Pocket Watch

Illinois Grade 410 HC. 12 size 23 jewel hunting case pendant-set Grade 410 pocket watch. An extremely rare top grade watch, the total production of this Model 4 hunting case version of the Grade 410 was only 140 made making this one of the most difficult to find and most collectible of all 12 size Illinois watches. Movement is beautifully finished with raised gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold train wheels, true bridge plate design, mirror finish steelwork, crosshatch pattern nickel damaskeen, and a diamond endstone on the balance. Watch is fronted by its correct double-sunk enamel dial, and watch is housed in an attractive sterling silver and gold-filled hunting case with multicolor detail to its front and rear. Case cuvette is nickel. Movement serial number is 2596355 which dates this watch to approximately 1914. Running and a beautiful movement with excellent color and luster. Dial is superb with just a minuscule pinpoint edge nick under the case bezel outside the 30 minute position. Hour hand is missing a small bit of its tip, and seconds-hand is a gold colored replacement that has some bits of black color on its surface. Case is attractive overall but the front lid opens wide of 90 degrees (to approximately 110 degrees when fully opened), case shows little wear with excellent engraving detail, case front has a dark patina while its back has a lesser patina, and case has a few mild dings or nicks.
