This model, serial number 203540 features 15 jewels, with a screw-set jewel setting, openface movement configuration, level movement setting and micrometer regulator. The case gold filled. The movement is marked “203540/Safety Pinion/ Seth Thomas/ Thomaston/Conn”; the case is stamped with the numbers 451095 and features the emblem of “B&N Warranted”. Watch presents very well and in very good antique condition, with very minor wear/scuffing and patina commensurate with age and type of use. Watch in running condition and keeps time. The Seth Thomas Clock Company was founded by Seth Thomas in Plymouth Hollow, CT and began producing clocks in 1813. It was incorporated as the “Seth Thomas Clock Company” in 1853. The company made both tall clocks and mantle clocks with brass movements. Thomas Jr would push the company to start making pocket watches a quarter of a century later, in 1883. The company ceased operations in 2009. The Model 5 pocket watch was launched in 1893 as Seth Thomas’s flagship railroad pocket watch and company’s first full-plate open-face watch. This specific model, serial number 203540 features 15 jewels, with a screw-set jewel setting, openface movement configuration, level movement setting and micrometer regulator.
