1859 Pre Civil War Waltham 1857 with Gold balance and original case

Offered to you is this Model 1857 caliber P. Barrtlell key wind/key set Waltham pocket watch. By the serial number (21281) this watch dates to 1859 so its a good chance it might have been worn by a Civil War solder. The movement features a gold balance wheel. The dial is in very good condition for its age but there is a hairline between the 11 and 12 o’clock markers. It has a nice set of hands. The watch is running. Check out the last two digits of the cases serial number, they match the last two serial numbers of the movement. The lid is a little hard to open, the pusher is probably worn. The coin silver case does show some small dents but for a watch over 159 years old its in great condition. Watches this old don’t come available often so don’t miss your chance to own it. Raymond (USA) open-faced railroad-approved pocket watch, probably ca. This is a 16-size watch, and measures approximately 52mm (2) diameter. This watch features a genuine Elgin RR yellow gold filled screw-back-and-bezel case, a 21-jewel adjusted stem-wind lever-set movement, and a single-sunk porcelain dial. The case is in excellent condition, showing signs of occasional pocket carry, and some very light brassing on the edge. The dial is in excellent condition, showing no visible cracks or chips. The movement runs and keeps excellent time. Overall, a very presentable watch that is ready to carry with pride or present as a wonderful gift to a person who appreaciates fine railroad timepieces. This is an excellent crossover collectible of interest to both watch collectors and railroad buffs. Hard to find 18s Illinois BUNN 17 Ruby Jewels adjusted to temperature and 5 position isochronism. Case with Railroad engravings is in super condition. Movement is absolutely fabulous to admire. Dial has a few tiny hairlines as seen in pictures. The Gothic Script really makes this pocket watch stand out in its on. Serviced and keeping great time. You can’t go wrong with this one.
