RARE Illinois Pocket Watch! Up for sale is an antique Illinois 16 size 23 jewel adjusted 60 Hour Bunn Special pocket watch with a rare marked dial and Bunn Special Model 29 case! The lever-set movement is marked: 60 Hour Bunn Special Illinois Watch Co. And Six Positions 5067076 Motor Barrel 23 Jewels Double Roller. The movement is nice and features gold jewel settings. The yellow gold filled case is in good condition, with small dings and light scratches – see photos. The inside of the case back is marked: Bunn Special Model 29 Wadsworth Quality 10 Karat Gold Filled Pat’s Pend’g 8389408. The double-sunk dial is marked: Illinois Bunn Special 23 Jewel 60 Hour. The dial has a repair at 12 o’clock and some hairlines. The watch is running, and winds/sets properly. We do not know the service history, and can not guarantee the time keeping on the watch. For your consideration is an 18S, 17J Elgin Grade 249, Model 4 Pocket Watch. This Watch comes in a hard to find Box Hinged Hunter Case and in really great overall condition. Watch is in working condition. I do not know when it was last serviced. Very bright gilt movement with serial number 8685845. Watch is pendant wind and lever set. The Single Sunk Dial is in great condition with three small chips by the III that don’t show under the bezel. I’ll also call it discoloration around the Elgin about a dime size but it looks like it is under the glaze and comes from the factory. The glass crystal is in nice condition. The hands are nicely blued. The Box Hinged Hunter Case is nicely engraved with light even wear with no distractions showing anywhere. All three covers open to 90 degrees with the front cover opening as it should. The gold filled case has the Keystone marking and number 1667208 on each cover. Please continue to check back. 16 size 21 jewel open face pendant-set Hayden W. Wheeler pocket watch with its original 14K gold “HWW” Hayden W. Watch is private label marked on dial and movement for retailer Davis & Hawley of Bridgeport and Waterbury, Connecticut. Rare watch with a total production of only 250 made. Movement is beautifully finished with gold jewel settings, gold center wheel, gold balance screws, and Hayden W. Wheeler’s distincitve two-finger bridge plate design and wavy pattern nickel damaskeen. Case rear is engraved with A. ” initials and its gold cuvette is engraved “From Father to A. Movement serial number is 175256. Gross weight of assembled watch is 57.7 dwt (89.8 grams). Running and a very nice looking movement with excellent color and luster. Dial faces up very well but has a few light hairlines and glaze scratches. Case is in strong condition with a good in hand look and feel. Bow is thinned at top, likely from carry on a chain.
