Illinois Bunn Special 21 Jewel Railroad Pocket Watch. This Illinois railroad watch is 16 size (case diameter 50 mm). The movement is marked Bunn Special, with 21 jewels, raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel, and is marked Adjusted Temp. And 6 Positions as required for railroad service. Themovement condition is exceptionally nice – I see no flaws. This watch is in the original “Bunn Special Model” railroad case. The case is pink gold filled with moderate wear, and has a ring of brass along the back edge, bezel, crown, and on the bow. The back has some extremely faint waves. This is an honest, original case that has been carried a fair bit. Most railroad pocket watches were working watches and were carried 6 or 7 days a week. The original, double sunk dial is porcelain and has correct plum-colored hands and bold numerals both correct for the time period. The dial has NO chips, and NO hairlines. This watch was made in about 1924. This watch runs and keeps reasonable time, but I do not know the history of this watch, so it may need to be serviced. Sorry, this is NOT a “Make Offer” listing.
