Up for sale is a beautiful silver repousse pair case verge fusee antique pocket watch, circa 1769. The watch has just been cleaned and serviced and the movement is in perfect working condition. It runs to the end of the fusee chain very smoothly and keeps very good time. The beautiful fire gilt movement is signed. Three arm steel balance. Beautiful engraved top plate and balance cock. Comes from one of the most eminent families of watchmakers in the mid 18th century. He is well listed in all the reference books. For a good example you can look at: G. Baillie, Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World, Vol. 210: He has watches and clocks on display in several collections. Silver inner case in very good condition. Hallmarked for London 1769, and numbered. The same number that is engraved on the movement. The case is also marked with the case makers initials. There is a crown engraved on the back side of the inner case. Very high quality repousse silver original outer case. Spectacular and beautiful in mint condition!
