MAKER: BALL WATCH CO. YEAR OF MANUFACTURE: 1940-41. STEM WIND AND LEVER TIME SET. POCKET WATCH IS IN USED CONDITION BUT IT DOES RUN WITH A GOOD SHAKE. WATCH WAS MANUFACTURED BY HAMILTON. PER SERIAL NUMBER B649066 MOVEMENT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 1940-41 WITH 23 JEWELS PER MARKINGS INSIDE (SEE PICTURES). KEYSTONE JBOSS “BALL MODEL” WATCH CASE HAS SERIAL NUMBER 5415601 AND IS GOLD FILLED BUT I DON’T KNOW WHETHER IT IS 10K, 14K, ETC. WATCH WINDS AT THE STEM AND SETS WITH THE LEVER. THE WATCH DOES NOT SEEM TO UNWIND ALL THE WAY AND ONLY RUNS 3 OR 4 HOURS WHEN WOUND TIGHT. THERE MAY BE ISSUES WITH THE SPRING. ALSO THERE IS A LITTLE PLAY IN THE STEM WHEN WINDING. THERE MAY BE SOME SMALL SCRATCHES OR CRACKS IN THE CRYSTAL, FACE, AND CASE THAT MAY NOT BE VISIBLE FROM MY PICTURES. IT MAY REQUIRE SOME REFURBISHMENT. Antique James Reid & Co Pocket Watch in working order but needing attention/servicing as the movement only runs for a few minutes before stopping. Hands need re-setting/straightening as they foul each other also. Glass is loose (is actually plastic) and needs to be fixed back in place or replaced with something more age appropriate.
