Hamilton 16s 21J Gr 992 RR Grade Open Face Pocket Watch Yellow Gold Filled Case. This is a Hamilton 16s 21J grade 992 stem wind and lever set open face railroad grade pocket watch S#1596184. Nice clean movement, marked 992 runs good. Double sunk Montgomery porcelain dial signed Hamilton looks very good. The watch is in a yellow Gold Filled screw back and bezel open face case. The case has some brass on the back cover, about 5mm wide. Nice railroad grade pocket watch. We have been in the watch business for more than 30 years. IN 1945 MY COUSIN WAS IN PACIFIC FLYING ESCORT FOR B 29S (I THINK HE FLEW A P-51 MUSTANG) AND HE WAS ON IOU JIMA AND AT NIGHT , THEY WOULD TAKE THERE THINGS OFF THE PLANES SO THEY WOULD GET TAKEN. THIS IS THE WATCH HE USED AND HE HAD WITH HIM IN HIS TENT, WHEN HIS PLANE WAS DESTROYED BY JAPS THAT WERE STILL ON ISLAND. THIS WATCH IS A PART OF THAT HISTORY. IT RUN AND KEEPS TIME HAS SOME WEAR BUT NOT BAD, THE CACE STILL HAS FELT AND SPRINGS THAT ARE GOOD. IT WAS KEPT IN A TRUNK FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
