Serial number is S28243. Towards the end of production. The movement is clean and the winding wheels are like new. No rust or scratches, has the narrow bar damaskeening pattern. Elinvar hairspring, raised gold jewel setting, Adj. The dial is the original Melamine Marked 23 Jewels. It is a nice dial but it has 3 minor hairlines. Hands are black and rust free. The case is a Model 17 and does not show any wear through. Running like new and keeping accurate time. See my other auctions this week for some good watches. I don’t end auctions early. Beautiful antique c1894 Elgin pocket watch in a fine Brooklyn Watch Case Co. Solid 14K hunter case with all over hand engraving. The watch was worn on a 14K gold rope chain by previous owner. The case reads WARRANTEED – 14K – U. The watch case is not monogramed with prior owners initials. The works serial number is “5721095″. 1 5/8″ in diameter and the face just under 1 3/8″ in diameter, the chain is 30 long. The watch and chain weigh 67.5 grams. The case is in very, very good condition with only minor wear from use and polishing, the watch ticks but will stop after a few seconds, it is not overwound but need to be looked at to run.
