The watch has just been cleaned and serviced and the movement is in perfect working condition. It runs to the end of the fusee chain very smoothly and keeps very good time. The movement: Three arm gilt balance. Beautiful engraved top plate and balance cock. Very rare and interesting square pillars. The mint fire gilt movement is signed. Beautiful super clean English made by Jackson of London, Serial no. 7365 Silver pair cased verge fusee with calendar. Sharp Solid sterling silver case is Silver hall marked (k) 1808 of Birmingham assay. Beautiful Outstanding condition, white colored porcelain dial with nice Bold hour numbers and large 31 day calendar ring. Beautiful solid Gold matching hands and steel calendar hand. The dial shows just some light flakes on edge between the 11 and 12 and around the center arbor, also running thru the number 3. Otherwise it is truly beautiful. Absolutely spotless high domed bulls eye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together with nice and tight hinges. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has beautiful motion. The balance bridge is just amazing with its uniquely pierced 5 ring balance bridge. The movement is super clean with sharp blue screws and disk with a left side arrow index for regulating. In the pictures I show the amazing complicating calendar workings under the dial, which function perfectly making this a rare Quality pocket watch. The watch measures approx. 55mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps amazing fusee time, last checked between 1 or 2 minutes fast within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position…….. But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are verge type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time 210 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces and always remember to wind counter clockwise. Inside the case is a beautiful old watch makers paper from Salem New Jersey. Beautiful verge fusee watch from French Regency Epoch, circa 1720s-1730s. Very rare porcelain (over brass base) case, really hard to find. It’s decorated with painting of allegory of love on the back side – cherub in carriage driven by doves. The inner side of back cover and front cover are decorated with painted flowers. Movement is signed by Baillon a Paris. Baillon – is well known French watchmaking dynasty, known from mid-XVII. Probably, production of Etienne Baillon, installed in Paris from 1704 (died 1748). Beautiful porcelain dial with bold numbers, beetle and pocker hands – it looks a little “British”. Movement is very nice, with big balance bridges of typical French Regency style. This early movement features barrel with worm, square baluster pillars and almost none escapement regulations. After Julien Le Roy inventions of mid XVIII, these was features are impossible to find in French movements. The movement is in good working condition – works in every position. The porcelain of case has cracks and couple of minor reparation to the border. The dial has hairlines and reparation near winding hole. Diameter of outer case is 50mm, inner is 55mm.
