Up for sale is an amazing Civil War Waltham 1857 model 18s key wind pocket watch made in 1864, during the Civil War. This watch runs very good and keeps very good time. This case is amazing! Serviced: This watch was just serviced (all parts removed, cleaned, new unbreakable mainspring, oiled, and adjusted to keep very good time). Movement : This watch is running very good and keeping great time! The movement is a very nice P. S Bartlett Grade key wind with a 11 jewel movement, big beautiful jewels, the original balance wheel, and a beautiful gilt movement. This movement looks amazing!! Dial : The original dial is in very good condition. Case : The gold filled Ladd case is in very nice condition. This is one of the best Ladd cases I have seen. This case looks like it was used very little. I only see brass on the bow (from chain). The watch has a very nice glass crystal. This case is not original to this movement. Near Mint condition 16 size 23 Jewel Waltham Vanguard Wind Indicator pocket watch in an unbelievable Gold filled case. Outstanding mint condition White porcelain dial with bold black numbers and large Super brilliant Blue colored hands. The only flaw is a tiny flea nick near the lever, totally undistracting. Front and rear covers screw on and off flawlessly. This case also has an extra special rear dust cover to keep the movement super clean, that snaps on and off perfectly. The front glass crystal is near spotless. The movement is gleaming and super clean and in my opinion mint in condition. The Waltham Vanguard 23 Jewel movement serial number 19062815 dates to 1913. The 16 size model 1908 Rail Road Grade Double Roller adjusted to (5) Positions has unbelievably Brilliant Gold Jeweled settings. The movement also has beautiful demaskeening and spotless winding wheels with a Gold train and Lossier hairspring. The lever set Pocket watch, sets and runs outstanding with all pivots lightly oiled and the balance with beautiful super motion, which has been keeping outstanding time. The wind indicator works flawlessly, showing the power reserve. Note all of my pocket watches have been personally serviced and restored to there best working order according to there age and condition. The Bull Dog style case is amazing. The rear double case covers are both marked “Security 10 Karat Gold Filled Rail Road Model”. This case is minty and super solid with just moderate use and absolutely no brassing or wear thru to be found. The bow is nice and stiff.
