Here are the details. 5,569,680, circa 1932, fine running condition Illinois Bunn Special, 60 hour Type IIP Elinvar model, 16 size, open face, 21 jewels, Model 15, Grade Bunn Special 60-hr. Type IIP Elinvar, adjusted to temperature and 6 positions, double roller, 60-hour Motor Barrel, Elinvar white bimetallic hairspring, gold jewel settings, full gold train, gold balance screws, ¾ nickel plate, stem wind, lever set railroad-grade honey. This fine 60-hour Elinvar model is in superb working order, with an excellent balance motion that is flat, true, wide-arced and strong-running. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up on a dime with no jiggling, and lever sets as designed. The watch holds excellent time but has not been further regulated or adjusted. In the appearance department this 60-hour Bunn Special is looking most excellent, with bright, almost 100% tarnish-free winding wheels with none of the usual scratching around the barrel wheel screws, clean plates that show off the intense and distinctive Illinois Model 15 damaskeening pattern, clean and correct regulator apparata, absolutely 100% of the engraving paint intact adds real big-time value! , clean looking inside as well as out, and ripping and running strong and true! Dial : Near mint condition big bold Montgomery Patented railroad dial, double sunk enamel and correct for a 48-hour Sangamo Special and in near factory perfect condition. It is clean and fine all the way around except for one short, totally faint little hairline in the outer chapter only at “10″ and one micro nick. That’s completely it for damage that I can see with a loupe!! Hands : XXXF condition original factory finish plum matching whip style fancy and fine. These stylish yet railroad-ready hands are in near mint condition with almost 100% of the original plum finish still intact! Case : Illinois First Model “Bunn Special Model” 16 size, open face, Wadsworth highest grade 10K yellow gold fill, slot right, screw-back-and-bezel, fancy dress or more likely railroad case! Here’s Illinois’ first and most popular railroad-approved case in excellent overall condition, with the smooth field in back framed by handsome linked-loop patterns around the edge of the bezel and back, a thick neck, wide, wind-able crown, and distinctively designed layer-cake bow! This super looking condition case is in fully serviceable condition. I have restored and detailed this case right down to the threads so you get the best looking and working case possible! The back and bezel thread up easily, screw on and off smoothly, and both seat tight. The matching original crown’s fluting is worn but still defined enough for a tight, sure grip, and it turns freely but, by design, does not extract, so only a lever-set e. Bunn Special movement will work inside. The bow is also its correct original, shows brassing but no damage, and holds tight to positions. The crystal is a very thick, high-domed beveled glass model with no distracting issues whatsoever. The case does show very minimal wear, including evenly distributed pocket wear, zero marrings, zero doodlings, brass at the usual places, and no appreciable dents, dings, dimples or depressions! Since I’ve owned this fine timepiece it has always run accurately and been a joy to behold!!
