Beautiful solid and clean English made by William Reeves, Birmingham Serial no. 1541 silver cased verge fusee. Sharp Solid sterling silver case is Silver hall marked (t) 1817 Birmingham assay. Beautiful white colored porcelain dial with big bold clear numbers. This dial has beautiful eye appeal with just a faint spider line and only one small edge repair near the 3. Sharp matching Gold colored hands. Sharp near spotless high domed bulls eye crystal. All case covers open, close and fit perfect together with nice and tight hinges. Key wind and key set pocket watch runs full length of chain. Balance has outstanding motion with a nice strong main spring. The balance bridge has unique and ornate scroll work as does the right side of the movement. The movement is super clean with blue screws and is regulated by a pointed arrow adjusted by a blue disked regulator. The watch measures approx. 56mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs outstanding and keeps great fusee time, last checked about +/- 1 minute within approx. 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position…….. But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are verge type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time 199 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces. Inside the case is an old watch maker paper from John Nicholl of Belvidere, Warren county New Jersey. Watch is listed in the Watch and Clock makers of the world as Reeves, William.
